| I am starting a Cloth Cap Registry: Over the last 3 years, I have been feverishly researching and compiling pictures of vintage Cloth solider and sailor caps. I have a great collection of pictures inside and out, Of each. Plus examples in my possession. Im always looking for pictures that I don't have. If the pictures have an origin story, PLEASE! send that with the pictures. I do have detailed pictures of both sailor and solider caps. Both are documented original caps with pedigrees. If you have a cloth cap and want to know if its a true vintage Hasbro prototype let me know. I will let you know if it is. If its not I will tell you why. I WONT send you pictures of the bottoms of the caps so don't ask. If it is the real deal and you want, I will put it in my registry. With owner info and a number along with origin history etc. If you can provide phone numbers of the person that you purchased the cap from I will call them as well. You can determine if you want your info private or public. If you want to sell it later on down the road the cap registry info can be changed. You can also use the CCR in your AUCTION AD. This will all be FREE. Why ME? Why not me? I have been collecting vintage GI Joes for almost 13 years now. I have some incredible items in my collection. I have a great reputation in this hobby. I have talked to several people from Hasbro about these hats. I have expert experience in verifying original sewing from vintage items outside GI joe. So if its a fake, and was made with vintage GI joe material. Even if they used vintage thread I will be able to tell. Plus I do the same for $250,000+ sport cars. The registry will provide a CCR certificate (cloth cap registry certificate) to verify this. I can GUARANTEE you it will NOT be for the purpose of reproducing these caps. It will be for the purpose of stopping the fakes. Plus de-terming what is fake and what is vintage KO. Shipping the cap to me is not mandatory. If your picture makes it past the photo stage. Then you will need to ship me the cap to be in the registry. I can do a photo Id/Verification but to be in the registry I will need to see the cap in-person. I am also insured and bonded so you can send the caps to me if you like for appraisal and verification. I have several references.
